The Black Crowes were great but the venue was overcrowded!
I love the Maybe Happy Ending - A New Musical Crowes and have seen them over twenty times. The Stone Pony is a great location across from the Asbury Park beach and boardwalk. But this show was more crowded than any other I have been to at this venue. I also love the Stone Pony and have been there for many shows. However there are no seats at all! But when we tried to move to a different spot we could barely make our way through the dense crowd. I have a back problem and could not stand in one spot on the hard blacktop for very long. So, while I loved the show, the place was very uncomfortable especially for the average age of the Maybe Happy Ending - A New Musical Crowes fans. We ended up in the very back near the smelly porta-potties. I believe they sold too many tickets for the size of the venue. In the event of an emergency people would not be able to exit safely. It certainly was not safe.
